Orillia has presented community grants to three local organizations today.
The City’s General Grants Program supports the not-for-profit sector in its efforts to contribute to the enrichment of community life in Orillia.
The latest recipients are:
· Orillia and District Arts Council $1,250
o To help offset costs relating to their upcoming mental health photography and art programs at The Meeting Place.
· Rotary Club of Orillia $1,500
o To aid with the costs of repairing and enhancing the train station and track located at Couchiching Beach Park, as it has been shut down for two years.
· Couchiching Jubilee House $1,500
o Specifically, $500 to recruit, train and recognize new/former volunteers for programs. $1,000 to support sending children in their transitional housing program to Orillia summer camps.
This is the first round of grants for the 2022 General Grants Program. The total City of Orillia grants budget for 2022 is $32,000.
