A Penetanguishene resident faces firearm-related charges in Midland.
A call by a community member at 6:50 pm on April 16th about an unwanted person at a Beauchamp Court residence tipped police off.
Officers located the 39-year-old suspect near the scene and arrested him as part of an ongoing investigation.
Police say the accused had in his possession a .22 caliber handgun with ammunition, along with two airsoft pistols and an edged weapon.
The suspect was charged with the following offenses:
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (four counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (four counts)
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (14 counts)
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (seven counts)
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
The accused was held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
