A gastrointestinal outbreak has been declared at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s IOOF home in Barrie
The outbreak, which currently affects 9 patients and 7 staff was declared by RVH and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
The home is a 27-bed satellite unit located at 10 Brooks Street.
All patients and staff are being monitored closely for symptoms.
Patients are isolated and full PPE precautions are in place.
At this time, no visitors are permitted, however, some exceptions in particular circumstances may apply.
RVH has dispatched additional environmental services personnel to provide additional support for cleaning protocols.
