A driving complaint in Midland has resulted in the arrest of an 18 year old man.
The OPP say a pick-up truck was speeding eastbound on Heritage Drive early Saturday morning, when it was stopped by officers and an impaired driving investigation began.
Police say as a result, Robert BELANGER-STANICH 18 years of Tay Township is being charged with the following offences.
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada - Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
Contrary to the Liquor Licence Control Act - Race a motor vehicle-Stunt
- Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused was released from custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 21, 2022 and also faces a drivers licence suspension of 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days as per the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
