A traffic stop in Springwater has resulted in impaired and stunt driving charges.
The OPP says an officer was conducting enforcement in the Highway 26 and Atkinson Road area on Tuesday night, when a vehicle was clocked at 145 km/hr in an 80 zone.
A traffic stop was conducted and a drunk driving investigation began.
As a result, police say Skyler BAILEY, 22-year-old from Wasaga Beach has been charged with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Stunt Driving in relation to excessive speed
The vehicle was impounded for 14 days as a result of the charge of Stunt Driving under the Highway Traffic Act and their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood, in April, 2022, to answer to the charges.
