More upgrades are coming to the Goderich shoreline for the summer of 2022, while others are being held off.
Mayor John Grace says renovations along the town’s beach are not yet completed, but work will be completed during the warm season.
“There’s more benches that need to be put in place… and there’s a little extension from the beach hut on the Main Beach that goes out to the pier,” Grace tells Country 104.9 News.
“There’s some more sidewalks, more benches, more enhancements.”
Early in the pandemic, town hall officials in Goderich mulled over the idea of business huts along the shoreline.
Grace says that has been held off.
“That’s going to be delayed a year or so until we find out exactly what the business community needs down there,” Grace says.
Paid parking will also be returning to Goderich this summer, something Grace says was very successful in 2021.
When asked how much money was earned from the paid parking, Grace says it was just under $100 thousand.
