Huron OPP say there was no malicious intent, after a child was offered a ride from a stranger in Crediton.
Police say an elementary student was waiting in front of his home last Wednesday on Victoria Avenue, when an unfamiliar vehicle pulled up and asked the child if he needed a ride.
Reports say the child declined the ride, while the vehicle continued westbound on Victoria Ave, before turning around and driving eastbound out of the area.
After learning the identity of the driver, OPP determined there was genuine concern for the child’s well-being and safety.
Huron OPP encourage parents to regularly engage in personal safety conversations with their children.
