An OPP officer has been cleared of any wrong-doing by the SIU, following a collision between a truck and a police SUV in Essa Township.
Police say the officer was driving the speed limit while heading west on the 20th Sideroad on November 23, 2021, when the cruiser hit a pick up truck as it entered the intersection of 10th Line and had the right of way.
The driver of the pickup was taken to hospital and diagnosed with a cervical vertebra fracture.
Following an investigation, the director of the SIU, Joseph Martino, found no reasonable grounds to believe that the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with a crash.
