It’s official: senior men’s baseball is returning to Owen Sound this summer.
The North Dufferin Baseball League has accepted the application from the Owen Sound team for entry into the 2022 season.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have a team back in town again. Owen Sound is such a great sports town, and we look forward to many great times at the ball park this summer,” says Ryan Bartley, who has been leading the process for the Owen Sound team.
He says it’s the first time in nearly 20 years Owen Sound will have senior men’s baseball.
Owen Sound’s baseball team has also chosen its logo and moniker: The Baysox.
The Owen Sound Baysox will play a 24-game schedule in the North Dufferent Baseball League. About half of those games will be played at Tom Williams Park in Owen Sound. The tentative schedule for Baysox home games is Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
