Parts of the Wawanosh Valley Conservation Area closed for several weeks has now re-opened.
Harvesting of diseased and damaged trees around the Wawanosh Park campground kept much of the grounds closed throughout the winter, beginning in January.
The trails have been cleared of debris but there are still some potential hazards including:
- Uneven trail surfaces
- Slippery trail areas
- Branches or sticks across the trails that may appear after the snow melts
Conservation Areas staff will be doing further cleanup once the snow melts including trail surface repairs and cutting stumps and tree tops to promote quicker decomposition.
