Former Collingwood Councillor John Markovich has passed away.
Mayor Brian Saunderson offered condolences to the family on behalf of Council yesterday and asked that the flag be lowered at Town Hall.
John loved Collingwood. He helped the community to grow through fundraising and being part of many organizations. He became president of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and Big Brothers. He also served a term on town council. He received the Order of Collingwood and was inducted into the Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame under the category championship teams.
