A freezing rain warning is in place for most of Bruce and Grey counties today.
Environment Canada advises patchy freezing rain is expected this morning before transitioning to rain this afternoon.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” says an Environment Canada statement.
For the Bruce Peninsula, the warning says a “prolonged period of freezing rain” is expected throughout the day today into tonight.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
