The Four County Labour Market Planning Board is looking to fill its executive director role as Gemma Mendez-Smith is retiring.
Mendez-Smith says in a statement, “Having served 11 years as ED and two decades with the organization, I feel this is the right time for a leadership change and to pursue a new venture. It has been my honour and privilege to serve this great organization. I am happy to have been a part of a not-for-profit focused on leadership, growth and service excellence.”
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board plans and promotes local labour market strategies. It also releases a monthly job employment number report, provides training, plans projects and initiatives and does a regular employer survey asking about what skills are needed in the area and what kind of challenges businesses in Grey, Bruce, Huron and Perth counties currently face.
Board Co-Chair, Dave Trumble and former Co-Chair, Shirley Keaveney say in a statement, “Wishing Gemma all the success in the world is easy, but seeing her leave the board will be deeply and profoundly sad. Nonetheless, we who have the privilege of calling Gemma friend, co-worker, confidant and so much more. We look forward to hearing of the success of her new ventures.”
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board has created an Executive Director Search Committee to facilitate the hiring process to find its new leader.
