South Bruce OPP are looking for information relating to the damage of numerous trees on Boiler Beach Road in Huron Township.
Police say they were called on February 11th about the incident, and say about twenty-five trees had been girdled.
Girdling is the loss of a strip of bark from around a branch or the trunk and it will eventually kill the section of a tree above where the bark is stripped off.
OPP say destroying or damaging property is a criminal act called mischief. The maximum penalty for mischief, upon conviction, is two years in jail.
South Bruce OPP are asking anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122.
