Another high-profile Canadian official has tested positive for COVID-19.
Governor General Mary Simon has confirmed she has tested positive for the virus and is experiencing “mild symptoms”.
The news came just a day after Simon’s husband, Whit Fraser, tested positive for COVID-19.
Both of them are fully vaccinated and boosted.
Simon says she will continue to self-isolate.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also recently tested positive for the virus but has since recovered.
