The 10th annual Coldest Night of The Year (CNOY) Walk in Huntsville will serve to meet the great needs of the community.
The aim of the Table Soup Kitchen Organization is to have raised $60,000 for the cause by then (February 26th).
CNOY’s mandate is to raise money for local charities like the Table to serve people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

Heather Cassie, CEO and Founder of the Table says they’ve already raised $39,690 (as of Wednesday, February 9th)
“It is getting bigger and bigger,” says Cassie of the donations. “We’re so grateful.”
There’s plenty of room for more walkers to join – presently 100 walkers and 26 teams have signed up to take part.
On the 26th the plan is for walkers to meet at the Table’s Parking Lot located at 9 Haines Street at 4 pm – that’s the check-in time and registration, with 5 pm reserved for opening remarks and ceremonies.
At 5: 15 pm, Cassie says the walkers will start either a 2 km or a 5 km route:
“The main part of the route is on Main Street which becomes King William,” says Cassie. “We’re going to head up to Canadian Tire, cross over to Comfort Inn, walk on the north side of the road, head up Chaffey onto West Road, back down Centre Street onto Main Street and then come all the way back to the Table. There will be refreshments along the way and especially back here at the Table.”
Money raised goes to the Table’s general fund which supports their 8 different services which include the soup kitchen, exchange store, food bank, love connection, community kitchen, food bank garden, food rescue, and men’s hostel.
“Our services are quite broad with many financial needs for each of them,” says Cassie. “Our main concern is obviously to help feed and support those who are in need in our community.”

The Table’s seen an increase of guests at the food bank with many who have never used it before and there is also a waitlist for the men’s hostel, so the need for the Table’s services is great within the community.
