A couple of local MP’s are hosting a Family Snow Sculpture Contest.
Barrie–Springwater–Oro-Medonte MP Doug Shipley and Barrie-Innisfil MP John Brassard will kick off the contest with their own snow sculpture behind the Southshore Community Centre at 2 p.m today.
Then residents are encouraged to join the fun, by building their own snow sculptures and posting photos of their creations on social media, tagging the MP’s with the hashtag #FebruarySnowSculpture.
The three sculptures in each riding that receive the most likes and shares on Facebook / Twitter / Instagram and
tag either MP Shipley (@DougShipleyBSOM) or MP Brassard (@JohnBrassardCPC) with the hashtag #FebruarySnowSculpture.
The three sculptures in each riding that receive the most likes and shares on social media will receive prizes from local businesses, delivered to each winner by MPs Brassard and Shipley.
The contest will run from Feb. 4 to 26 with winners announced and prizes delivered on Feb. 27.
This contest is open to all residents of Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte and Barrie-Innisfil.
“This will be a great opportunity to get outside with family and friends, have some fun, and create some beautiful snow sculptures,” said MP Doug Shipley.
“We truly live in a winter wonderland and I hope that this contest will inspire families to spend some time together, have some laughs and get creative in the snow. I’m looking forward to seeing what Barrie-Innisfil creates,” said MP John Brassard.
