An investigation into a stolen snowmobile in Wingham ended with a foot chase for Huron County OPP.
Police say they were investigating a snowmobile parked suspiciously at a gas station in the North Huron town on Monday, and determined the machine was recently stolen from Saugeen Shores.
According to reports, the operator fled from police on foot when he noticed the officer, and was tracked to a nearby backyard and taken into custody.
A 44 year old man of no fixed address is facing fifteen charges, including:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Escape Lawful Custody
- Resist Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Release Order – 6 counts
- Operation While Prohibited – 5 counts
- Driving While Under Suspension
