The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 319 new COVID-19 cases today and four deaths.
The deaths include a man between the ages of 45 and 64 from Muskoka and three Simcoe County residents – a woman over 79 years old, a man between the ages of 65 and 79, and a woman in the same age range.
Today’s update also includes eight new hospitalizations, bringing the total hospitalized in the region due to the virus to 31.
To date, 85 percent of the region’s over 5 population has received its first vaccine dose while 80 percent has received its second. 41 percent of the region’s over 18 population has received its third/booster dose.
