The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 1,166 new COVID-19 cases since last week and two new deaths.
There are also three new hospitalizations in the region due to patients with the virus since this past Friday’s update.
Currently, there are 28 people hospitalized in Simcoe Muskoka with COVID-19.
To date, 85 percent of the region’s over 5 population has received one vaccine dose while 80 percent have received two.
Four percent of the over 18 population has received a booster third dose.
