Several COVID-19 vaccine clinics are being held across Simcoe-Muskoka this week.
While appointments are strongly encouraged, the clinics will accept walk ins IF staff is able to accommodate for anyone needing:
- first or second dose for those 12 years of age or older
- first dose ONLY for children 5 to 11 years of age
- a booster dose for those who are at least 84 days from their second dose and in the following priority groups:
• NEW: 40 years of age or older
• NEW: Education staff including educators, custodial staff, administrative staff, and school bus drivers and Child Care staff
• NEW: Those with highest risk health conditions who have not yet received their booster dose which includes:
Organ transplant recipients and individuals awaiting organ transplant
Hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients
Neurological diseases in which respiratory function may be compromised (e.g., motor neuron disease, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis)
Haematological malignancy diagnosed <1 year
Kidney disease eGFR< 30
Individuals who are pregnant at time of vaccination - Health care workers and designated essential caregivers in congregate settings (including long- term care home and retirement home staff and designated caregivers)• Health care worker
- First Nation, Inuit and Métis adults and their non-Indigenous household members who are 16 years of age or older.Indigenous people and their 16+ household member
- Those who received two doses of AstraZeneca vaccine or one dose of Janssen vaccine
Details:
- Must be a resident of Simcoe Muskoka. Must show proof of residency at the clinic.
- Health care workers and Education and Child Care staff will be required to show proof of their eligibility.
- As per provincial direction, Pfizer will only be provided to those under 30 years of age due to the current supply issues.
- Individuals are encouraged to dress for the weather as they may be required to wait outdoors.
- Bring a health card, a list of medications and any assistive devices you may require (walkers, canes, etc.)
