Barrie’s Transit terminal has been made available as a warming centre for the duration of the extreme cold warning.
Safety protocols will be followed at the Terminal on Maple Avenue to ensure physical distancing, COVID-19 screening will take place and face coverings must be worn in all indoor public spaces.
A makeshift warming centre set up for the homeless on Dunlop Street was taken down by police following a complaint on the weekend.
The County of Simcoe provides overnight shelter through their emergency motel system.
