The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 197 new COVID-19 cases today and no new deaths.
It’s the highest single-day case count ever to be reported by the local health unit.
42 of today’s cases are children.
Today’s update also includes 85 newly resolved cases and 8 new hospitalizations.
To date, 88 percent of the region’s over 12 population has received its first vaccine dose while 85 percent has received its second.
