A crash south of Whitechurch has Huron County OPP reminding drivers about sharing the road with horse drawn buggies.
The reminder comes after a crash involving a buggy and a SUV at the corner of Donnybrook Line and Belfast Road.
According to reports, the SUV collided with the rear of the buggy, injuring the horse and requiring it to be put down.
Because horse drawn buggies are light vehicles, police say it puts occupants at greater risk of injury when involved in a collision.
If you encounter a horse drawn buggy, maintain a safe following distance and leave plenty of room when you pass.
Passing too closely may startle the horse, causing it to suddenly change direction.
