The Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) has an overwhelming amount of cats in its care that need loving homes.
It has launched the Home for the Holidays campaign for the month of December, when adoption fees for all cats will be reduced to just $50.
There are currently more than 135 cats with the Georgian Triangle Humane Society with over 100 available for adoption and the organization is unable to intake anymore cats in need due to space shortages.
“With plunging temperatures, we receive dozens of calls daily of stray cats that need shelter. With so many cats at the GTHS, this holiday adoption campaign is an excellent opportunity to make space for cold and homeless cats while simultaneously matching deserving cats with loving homes,” says Sonya Reichel, Executive Director of the GTHS. “We are so grateful to be part of a pet-loving community.”
For individuals interested in adopting a cat, here are the steps to take:
• Visit the ‘Adoptables’ page on the official GTHS website: gths.ca
• Find a cat of interest
• Application and Appointment – read over the “Things to Keep in Mind” information,
take the mandatory COVID-19 screening questions and fill out the adoption application
• Confirm the adoption application and select a preferred interview time. The interview
will take place at the GTHS Animal Centre, located at 549 Tenth Line in Collingwood.
