Collingwood has launched the Gift it Forward! – Ticket Campaign”
The Town invites anyone who has received a parking ticket (with the exception of fire route and accessible parking violations) between Monday, November 29 and Friday, December 10, 2021 to pay the fine amount by donating a new children’s toy or nonperishable food item(s) that is of equal or greater value than the ticket.
Examples of parking tickets that may be paid with a donation include: overnight parking, failing to pay for parking, and parking/stopping in area prohibited by sign.
Toys / food can be donated by attending Town Hall during current operating hours – Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. All items collected will be distributed to local charitable organizations over the Holiday Season.
To be eligible to participate:
- The ticket must be issued between November 29 and December 10, 2021.
- The ticket can be any parking violation, except for fire route and accessible parking violations.
- The toy / food items must be of equal or greater value of the set fine amount indicated on the parking ticket.
- The toy must be new, unwrapped and in its original packaging.
- Food must be nonperishable and unopened.
- The item’s receipt and parking ticket must be presented at time of donation.
- The donation must be received in person at Town Hall before 12:00 p.m. on December 13, 2021.
- Free Holiday Parking (December 13, 2021 – January 3, 2022)
- The Town of Collingwood will be offering free Holiday Parking from Monday, December 13, 2021 to Monday, January 3, 2022.
Please note: For long term parking needs (over 3 hours) in Downtown Collingwood, individuals are asked to park in the designated municipal parking lots. By-law staff will issue tickets to vehicles parked longer than 3 hours on Hurontario Street.
