A Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for most of Simcoe County and Muskoka, while a Snow Squall Warning has been issued for the Collingwood and Barrie areas.
Environment Canada is warning of a possibly treacherous commute on Monday morning.
It says snow squalls are expected to develop off Georgian Bay and Lake Huron early Monday morning and will bring rapidly accumulating snowfall along with reduced visibilities at times.
Strong winds near the shores of Georgian Bay will also cause reduced visibilities due to blowing snow.
The weather agency says snowfall accumulations of 15 to 25 cm are expected with locally up to 30 cm possible in areas experiencing the most intense squalls, which will move out of our area through Monday afternoon.
Motorists should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
