The Simcoe Muskoka health unit is adjusting its response to higher COVID-19 case counts.
There were 76 new infections reported Wednesday.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Charles Gardner says instructions will come in the near future stipulating that those 12 and older, involved with indoor sports outside of school, will have to be fully vaccinated. Previously only coaches and instructors needed to show proof.
The health unit is also trying to reduce the spread in schools. It will require a 10-day quarantine for those under 19 who are not vaccinated, who are members of a household where there is an unvaccinated contact of a positive case.
Dr. Gardiner also says places of worship will need to abide by the same rules as workplaces and businesses which include screening and mask-wearing.
