Damage in a Tuesday night fire in Wasaga Beach has been estimated at $1 million.
Fire Chief Mike McWilliam says the fire was reported just before 9 p.m., and the house which was under construction, was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
The chief says at one point the situation became very dangerous.
“Amazingly no injuries to civilians or firefighters as we had a 100 lb propane tank explode and become a projectile as well as throwing lots of debris flying through the air.”
There was a roofing crew on site during the day torching down roofing materials, and although they followed all safety procedures, the chief says this was determined to be the cause.
