The living wage in Huron and Perth county has risen.
The United Way Perth-Huron’s (UWPH) Social Research and Planning Council says the hourly rate needed to pay the bills in the two counties is $17.95 an hour.
That is a rise from the $17.55 an hour, announced in 2019.
The Living Wage is based on the living expenses of a family of four with both adults working full-time for 35 hours a week, once government transfers and deductions are taken into account.
According to the Social Research and Planning Council, everyday expenses in the calculation of the living wage included food, housing, utilities, childcare and transportation.
