The OPP has arrested two suspects and is still looking for a third, after a collision on County Road 9 west of Creemore.
Police say the crash happened on Wednesday morning, when three occupants fled the collision scene on foot and ran into a wooded area.
OPP Aviation Services, and the k-9 unit were called in and located two individuals.
Police say the investigation determined the vehicle had been stolen and was used in an armed robbery the night before.
A 31 year old Collingwood man and a 34 year old Brampton man are now facing charges.
Kenneth CURRIE (age 31) of Collingwood, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
• Possession of stolen property over $5000.00
• Possession of a schedule 1 substance – cocaine
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order
• Breach of Probation
• Fail to Remain
Noah ELKERTON (age 34) of Brampton, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00
– Possession of a schedule 1 substance – cocaine
Both accused’s are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on December 14, 2021.
This investigation is ongoing.
