Grey County is looking for feedback from the community on its draft climate change action plan.
The county plans to hold three public engagement sessions next week on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 28 at 5:30 p.m.
All of the sessions are virtual and will be held using Zoom.
Grey County’s climate change action plan will establish long-term greenhouse gas reduction targets for county operations and the wider community.
“It proposes actions to achieve these targets that also support potential job creation and public health benefits of reducing greenhouse gas pollution,” a statement from the county explains.
Key themes identified in the draft plan are buildings, transportation, waste, agriculture, land-use planning, energy, and protection of waterways and shorelines.
You can read the draft climate change action plan for Grey County here. Those interested in taking part in next week’s virtual public engagement sessions are asked to register.
Aside from the public engagement sessions, the county is also accepting comments on its draft climate plan until Nov. 5.
