Grey Bruce OPP say their underwater search and recovery unit has found the canoeist who went missing at Dyers Bay on Sunday.
The young man, who who was recovered deceased is 24-year-old Steven Shants of St. Clements.
On Sunday, Grey Bruce OPP, Bruce Peninsula EMS and Northern Bruce Peninsula firefighters responded to a canoeists in distress call around 3 p.m. near Dyers Bay Road.
OPP say one occupant was transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life threatening.
Emergency services personnel and members of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton continued to search for a second occupant and were later joined by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.
In a release issued Tuesday afternoon, OPP report that on Monday, October 4th, at about 3:15 p.m., they located the missing canoeist in Dyers Bay.
