The town of Wasaga Beach has approved a COVID-19 vaccination policy for municipal staff, members of council and volunteers.
It says an assessment determined the risk of contracting coronavirus in the work place as moderate, which means the chances of contracting the virus at work are low.
The town is strongly encouraging all Representatives, who are able, to be vaccinated against COVID-19, but is not making it mandatory.
The municipality respects that Representatives have the right to make informed decisions about their personal health care including the decision to become vaccinated against COVID-19.
Representatives that choose not to receive the vaccine will be subject to additional precautionary measures to ensure the safety of themselves as well as their colleagues.
