Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “.,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

When I was a little kid I had an Uncle Roy.
I can’t remember exactly how Uncle Roy was a relative, but I do remember going to visit him at his home in Vasey, Ontario and how the house was located right next to the ball park in the village.
That ball park, now known as Peter Robinson Field, has seen some great fastball through the years stretching from the Bobby Widdes era circa the late 1960s right through to today when the Robinson family bats 1-2-3 for the Countrymen.
Tonight in Vasey, the Simcoe Rural Fastball League Championship will be decided at Peter Robinson Field as the Countrymen host the Wyevale Tribe at 8 pm.
Meanwhile, tomorrow night in Allenford, the Grey Bruce Ladies Fastball League Championship will be decided as the Desboro Royals host the Tara Ladies.
In the semifinals last Thursday night, the Royals needed extra innings to eliminate Port Elgin while Tara advanced with a convincing shutout win over the hometown Gators.
Again, for fastball fans; the Simcoe Rural Men’s Final will be decided tonight at 8 pm in Vasey and then tomorrow night at 7:30 pm at the Allenford Ball Park, the Grey Bruce Ladies Fastball League Championship Game will be staged.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
