Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, bropught to you by Pete’s Auto Body
Pete’s Auto Body…because we care about our community.
A Fall weekend is upon us and for the sports fan, that’s a delight
The Blue Jays are at the top of the pecking order as they launch their final 3 games of the regular season at home against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Jays lost 6-2 last night against the Yankees and currently sit 1 game back of Boston and Seattle for the final Wild Card spot in the American League.
Elsewhere, Week 9 in the Canadian Football League continues tonight with Winnipeg at B.C.
The Blue Bombers lead the West at 6 & 1 while the Lions could make it interesting as they sit at 4 & 3 heading into tonight’s game.
Week 4 in the National Football League started last night with the Cincinnati beating Jacksonville 24-21.
The biggest contest on NFL Sunday is in L.A. where the Rams host the Arizona Cardinals.
Both teams are 3 & 0 in the NFC West, 2 of just 5 undefeated teams in the early going.
In Ontario Hockey League pre-season play, the Owen Sound Attack play their final exhibition game tomorrow when they host the North Bay Battalion.
Keep in mind, game time is 2 pm Saturday afternoon at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore
And maybe that’s the surest sign of Fall and October; the start of the Junior Hockey season.
In Collingwood tonight, the Blues play their Ontario Junior Hockey League opener at 7 pm when they host Pickering.
Plus, the PJHL Carruthers Division started last night while the Pollock Division begins tonight with games at Walkerton, Hanover & Kincardine at 8, 8 & 8:30 respectively
Have a great weekend.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace
