Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.
Pete’s Auto Body; because we care about our community….
Every day as part of my routine, I go to bluewaterathletics.com.
Before the pandemic, it was a go-to site for high school athletics of every description in the Bluewater District, and unlike many sports web sites, this one was extremely reliable for results and standings
Now, for the moment, the site sits idle and I anticipate the day that schedules and scores and standings for Bluewater Athletics return.
And it can’t be that far off, since I note numerous Bluewater graduates are involved in their sporting endeavours at the post secondary level.
On any given weekend this Fall, you can catch a cavalcade of Bluewater athletes who have emerged from the Owen Sound Girls Field Lacrosse program now playing in the O.U.A.
Jordan Kosempel plays for the Queen’s Golden Gaels out of Kingston.
The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks feature Ryleigh Elliott, Jamie Carr and Andrea Phillips
Katelyn Lavergne and Kirsten Sutter are members of the Guelph Gryphons,
And Reese Wilkins plays for the Western Mustangs in London.
Furthermore, beyond the borders of Ontario, two other Lady NorthStars are scheduled to compete in American Field lacrosse.
Francesca Alpajaro is at Georgetown in Washington and Heather Keery plays at Detroit-Mercy.
Their lacrosse season will commence in the Spring of 2022.
That’s almost a dozen grads of the Owen Sound Girls Field program and former Bluewater athletes involved at the University level, which makes the anticipation level for the return of Bluewater Athletics even more pronounced.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace
