Centennial Wins Debut
Port Elgin native Jack Middleton became the first pitcher ever for the Centennial College Colts in Ontario College Athletic Association this past Sunday.
Middleton started the game against the George Brown Huskies at Christie Pitts in Toronto.
He threw five innings of two-hit baseball while striking out two and allowed just one earned run in a 3-2 victory.
Middleton finished the game in centre field and made 2 great catches in the final inning including an over the shoulder grab to end the game.
He then moved to first base for the second game of the double header. Centennial jumped out to an 8-3 lead before George Brown clawed back for a 12-10 win.
A busy weekend coming up for Middleton and the Centennial College Colts. Friday, September 24 they host the Fanshawe College Falcons for a double header. The following afternoon on Saturday, September 25 they host Humber College. All home games are at Neilson Park in Scarborough.
