The province has announced eight new Ontario Health Teams , including two in the local area. The Barrie and Area team offers services to the city and surrounding area.
The North Simcoe Ontario Health Team covers Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay Townships, and Christian Island.
The teams consist of family doctors, nurse practitioners, as well as other agencies and professionals to offer a more coordinated approach to care, rather than each entity operating on its own.
