The Wiarton Rotary Club’s Shore to Shore Race will be staged on Thanksgiving Monday
The event which attracts runners and walkers to make their way from Oliphant to Wiarton, a trek of about 13 kilometres, has been staged since 1953.
Usually the Shore to Shore Race has been staged on Civic Day, but for this year will be conducted on October 11th.
Kathy Christie, a race committee member of the Wiarton Rotary Club, relates the club and race organizers are thrilled to be able to hold the race for a variety of reasons.
One, it maintains a lengthy history of a community event .
Two, it tells COVID 19, we’re still here.
Three, with the number of road runners in our region and well beyond, it offers a scenic and challenging route to compete on.
And most of all, the Shore to Shore Race generates funds for the Wiarton Rotary Club which are utilized for a lengthy list of community projects they’re involved with in South Bruce Peninsula
The cost to enter the Shore to Shore is $ 50
