Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.
The OPP says it is committed to promoting awareness about suicide, mental illnesses associated with suicide and suicide prevention.
The Simcoe County Suicide Awareness Council will be presenting a memorial bench and tree to the Town of Gravenhurst at Kinsmen Park this morning, which provides the opportunity for the community to recognize the impact of suicide, to educate ourselves on the topic and to strive to prevent it.
For anyone struggling, please know that you are not alone and there is help available.

1 in 3 people experience mental health challenges. We need to talk about suicide to break down the barriers and stigma. Together we can create hope through action. If you are struggling or know someone who is, reach out – you are not alone. https://t.co/kebyA0sHux #WSPD ^gp pic.twitter.com/ukHk8lypHm
