Barrie police say drugs, alcohol and a weapon have been seized, after a vehicle was stopped without plates in the city.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle without plates being operated in the Park and High Streets area on Sunday morning, when a traffic stop was conducted.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, a 31-year old woman of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of two outstanding warrants.
A subsequent search of the motor vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, an open bottle of wine and an unsealed bottle of scotch whiskey – both of which were readily available to the driver, along with an unloaded, semi-automatic rifle that was resting against the passenger seat.
Investigators later learned the vehicle had been taken without the consent of the owner and the accused is facing over a dozen charges.
