A new playground is coming to Goderich’s Main Beach.
Mayor John Grace says the park which formerly occupied the shore front has been removed, and construction is expected to begin in days on an updated unit.
Grace tells Country 104.9 News the new park was gifted by a local family, who will remain anonymous until the new feature is formally unveiled.
He says the new park will be a “large, swing-set, playground apparatus, inclusive, and colourful,” as well as accessible.
Grace confirms the playground will be accessible, as well.
“I think it will be a week or so before by the time they finish construction.”
“It is going to create some memories.”
Meantime, other features have appeared along the Goderich shoreline in recent weeks and months.
Grace says a gazebo was recently completed on the south side of the town’s Water Treatment Plant, donated by the Jasper family.
The Mayor also points to an additional 25 benches along the town’s shoreline.
