You can now order food from Huron County producers, and have it delivered directly to your home.
The food delivery service “Eat Local Huron” launches Wednesday, working with local farmers and food makers to give residents a new way to support local businesses.
General Manager of Eat Local Huron, Courtney Lang, says dozens of producers have signed on to supply their goods.
“Thirty right now, and that number is growing all the time,” Lang says.
“People are constantly messaging me… wanting to sell their products.”
Producers will bring the food to a central warehouse where Eat Local Huron staff will sort it and deliver it to homes across the county every Wednesday.
Deliveries begin August 25th.
Lang says typical grocery store items — milk, cheese, flour, vegetables, frozen meats, maple syrup, and coffee — will be offered through the service.
