A suspect has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Orillia.
Police say a man robbed a person at an address on Elgin Street late last month, when the victim was able to flee the area, but the incident wasn’t reported until a few days later on August 1st.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect, who was taken into custody last Wednesday for a previous incident and is now facing charges in both investigations.
Police say James Booth, age 35, of Orillia, has been arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with violence
- Uttering threats cause death or bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on August 12, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.
