Urgent clean-up has been completed by West Grey crews following a major rain event in Durham this past weekend.
The municipality advises more than 65 millimetres of rain fell in a two-hour period Saturday evening, causing excessive runoff and roadway flooding.
Some roads in Durham were closed as a result. Several basements flooded as well.
“There was no damage to municipal infrastructure or buildings. One rural road that sustained major erosion damage has been repaired,” a statement from the municipality of West Grey explains. “There are some roads that sustained minor erosion damage and they are expected to be repaired by the end of the week.”
