The Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation has a new Chief.
Veronica ‘Cha-Cha’ Smith was elected Friday, August 6th with 255 out of the 503 valid voting ballots.
Nine band councillors were elected. They are: Anthony Chegahno, Sidney Nadjiwon, Arlene Chegahno, Carlene Keeshig, Norma Tobey, Beverley Nadjiwon, Nick Saunders, Randa Keeshig and Kathy Jones.
Elections are held every two years at the First Nation.
