Olympic Women’s 200-metre Freestyle
Penny Oleksiak won a bronze medal
The bronze was Oleksiak’s 6th career Olympic medal, the most for any Canadian in the Summer Games, and ties her for tops overall with speedskater Cindy Klassen and speedskater/cyclist Clara Hughes.
Oleksiak led after 50 metres and finished 1:54.7 to take the last spot on the podium
The bronze medal gives Canada 9 medals to this point including 2 Gold.

MacDermid Dealt
The Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League traded defenceman Kurtis MacDermid to the Colorado Avalanche for a 4th-round draft pick.
The Kraken selected MacDermid last week from the Los Angeles Kings in the expansion draft.
A native of Sauble Beach, MacDermid played in the Ontario Hockey League for the Owen Sound Attack & the Erie Otters.
Hockey Announcement
Various sources insist there will be a formal announcement today pertaining to a significant event involving the Owen Sound Attack and the city of Owen Sound in 2022
According to one source the announcement will be made around 11 am.
Another source believes the announcement will be made in conjunction with the opening of the National Hockey League’s free agency period which commences today.
That source also suggests the announcement will be tied to an NHL event in either late January or mid-February.
