There was all kinds of hockey news last week at both the National Hockey League level along with the Attack, the Ontario Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey League.
But right in the middle of the hockey cavalcade Major Series Lacrosse stepped in and announced a return to action with the MSL Classic.
The MSL Classic will feature 5 teams including the new Owen Sound Major franchise.
Owen Sound, Brooklin, the Coburg Kodiaks, Oakville Rock and Six Nations Chiefs will compete in a series of games at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.
The MSL Classic begins tomorrow and is slotted to run through August 26th.
Naturally with lacrosse, nothing proceeds without some sort of swerve.
First, 5 of the 6 Major teams are in…..the Peterborough Lakers, the 3 time defending Mann Cup Champions have elected to take a pass
Plus, as expected, the never-say-die Polyannas from Brampton are claiming that Owen Sound can’t participate because there is no Owen Sound team because the sale of the Excelsiors franchise and the shift from Brampton to Owen Sound isn’t official.
Regardless, the MSL Classic is slated to begin tomorrow
