The Huron Park Fire Station is being temporarily closed.
According to a statement by the Municipality of South Huron, the fire station is temporarily closing “due to the presence of hazardous substances found at the facility.”
Officials say the fire station will need “extensive remediation” to ensure it can be opened safely again for personnel.
All members and equipment will be re-deployed to the Exeter and Dashwood fire stations, according to staff.
Staff will update Council through a report regarding the overall condition of the facility and an action plan to move forward.
